Hamilton Police in Canada are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 33-year-old Ebunoluwa Tomiwa, also known as “Boon,” who was wanted in connection with an ongoing human trafficking investigation.
Tomiwa, a resident of Belleville, Ontario, is wanted on charges including trafficking in persons, procuring for sexual services, material benefit from trafficking in persons and withholding documents, according to Hamilton Police.
Police described Tomiwa as a Black male, approximately 6ft 2in tall, weighing about 250 pounds, with a large build and dreadlocks.
Investigators said they believe there may be additional victims and urged anyone with information about the case, or anyone who believes they may have been victimised, to come forward.
Anyone with information regarding Tomiwa’s whereabouts was asked to contact the Hamilton Police Human Trafficking Unit, Starnews NG reports.
However, social media reports indicate that Tomiwa has since turned himself in and was arrested by Hamilton Police. But Starnews NG could not independently confirm the development as of press time.
Police said anyone who believes they may have experienced human trafficking can come forward when they are ready, noting that there is no statute of limitations for human trafficking offences.
Meanwhile, the allegations against Tomiwa have not been proven in court yet, Starnews NG can report.
