Bandits Kill Zamfara Teacher After Collecting Ransom

Armed bandits have reportedly killed a teacher identified as Mallam Kabiru, attached to Government Secondary School, Tsafe, in Zamfara State, despite ransom negotiations involving his family. The incident has intensified public outrage over the worsening insecurity and kidnapping crisis affecting communities across northwestern Nigeria.

According to reports, the attackers invaded the staff quarters of Government Secondary School in Tsafe Local Government Area and attempted to abduct the teacher.

Sources said the situation later escalated violently, leading to his death while his wife and two other women were taken away by the armed men.

Residents and education stakeholders in Zamfara State have expressed fear and frustration over repeated attacks targeting schools, teachers, students, and rural communities.

The killing has further renewed concerns about the safety of education workers in regions heavily affected by banditry and kidnappings.

Police authorities in Zamfara confirmed the attack and stated that security operatives have launched operations to track the perpetrators and rescue the abducted victims.
