Nollywood stars Uzor Arukwe and Linda Ejiofor have emerged winners of the Best Lead Actor and Best Lead Actress categories at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards 2026.
Arukwe clinched the Best Lead Actor award for his role in the movie Colours of Fire, beating other nominees including Mike Ezuruonye for Oversabi Aunty, Lateef Adedimeji for Lisabi: A Legend Is Born, Kanayo O. Kanayo for Grandpa Must Obey, Wale Ojo for 3 Cold Dishes, and Femi Branch for Red Circle.
In the Best Lead Actress category, Ejiofor was recognised for her performance in The Serpent’s Gift.
She triumphed over a competitive list of nominees including Bimbo Akintola for To Kill a Monkey, Sola Sobowale for Her Excellency, Scarlet Gomez for Behind the Scenes, Genoveva Umeh for The Herd, and Gloria Anozie-Young for Mother of the Brides.
The AMVCA remains one of Africa’s biggest entertainment award platforms, celebrating excellence in film, television, and digital content across the continent.
