Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Tuesday unveiled a statewide political mobilisation framework with the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, positioning the initiative as a strategic grassroots structure to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
The event, held at the Gani Fawehinmi Arcade Ground in Akure, was described by the governor as more than a ceremonial exercise, but the formal activation of a coordinated movement built on organisation, discipline, and political engagement at all levels.
Aiyedatiwa explained that the initiative represents a transition from vision to structured execution, aimed at strengthening political coordination from the grassroots to the state level.
He noted that the platform aligns with a broader national objective, with both the Federal Government and the National Assembly committed to sustaining the current administration beyond 2027.
According to him, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors will serve as frontline mobilisers, tasked with driving engagement across local governments, wards, and communities, while promoting the administration’s reform agenda and governance priorities.
The governor emphasised that the Renewed Hope Agenda is a practical governance framework focused on addressing economic and developmental challenges while laying the groundwork for long-term growth.
He highlighted key developments in Ondo State, including infrastructure improvements, agricultural revitalisation, and growing investor confidence.
He referenced major federal projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and ongoing road linkages towards the Benin corridor, noting that alignment between federal initiatives and state implementation remains critical to achieving sustainable development.
Aiyedatiwa also pointed to emerging opportunities in tourism, the marine and blue economy, and industrial expansion, stressing that synergy between different tiers of government is essential for delivering measurable results.
Charging members of the newly inaugurated structure, the governor called for disciplined and credible grassroots mobilisation, underscoring that effective political engagement requires organisation, consistency, and clarity of messaging.
“Mobilisation is not about noise but structure,” he said, urging participants to communicate government policies in relatable terms, including local dialects, while upholding values of unity, loyalty, and service.
He reiterated that the overarching goal is to build a functional political network capable of translating public support into electoral success, affirming that the re-election of President Tinubu remains central to the effort.
Also speaking, the Governor of Imo State and Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Senator Hope Uzodinma represented by South-West Coordinator, Senator Adedayo Adeyeye described the initiative as a nationally significant political project designed to deepen grassroots engagement.
Uzodinma said the platform would strengthen political structures nationwide and urged members to approach their roles as a service-oriented responsibility aimed at advancing the President’s policies at the community level.
He credited the current administration with implementing bold economic reforms that have improved revenue generation, stabilised governance, and enhanced federal allocations to states, alongside progress in salary payments, pensions, and education sector reforms.
Expressing optimism, he projected a decisive victory for President Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, citing growing national support.
In his remarks, Ondo State APC Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Kolawole, commended the governor for hosting what he described as a successful and well-attended event, noting the presence of stakeholders from all 18 local government areas.
He characterised the gathering as a consolidation effort rather than a persuasion campaign, expressing confidence that the party would deliver substantial electoral support for the President.
Kolawole dismissed potential political distractions, maintaining that the party remains united and well-structured under the governor’s leadership.
Earlier, the Ondo State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, said the initiative was established to enhance engagement between the Federal Government and citizens ahead of the 2027 elections.
He described President Tinubu as a reform-driven leader implementing proactive policies, noting progress in infrastructure, youth empowerment, and economic diversification despite initial economic challenges.
Olabimtan also stressed the importance of countering misinformation, describing the platform as a national enlightenment mechanism designed to improve public understanding of government policies.
He outlined its operational structure, including coordinators at local government and ward levels, supported by a unit-based system to ensure effective communication and mobilisation.
According to him, the initiative will deploy town hall meetings, roadshows, faith-based engagements, and stakeholder forums to strengthen civic participation and feedback channels.
The event drew a wide range of dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami; Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.
Olamide Oladiji; Chief of Staff, Prince Segun Omojuwa; members of the State Executive Council; lawmakers; local government chairmen; traditional and religious leaders; and party stakeholders.
