Zamfara Government Approves Recruitment of 3,050 Teachers

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the recruitment of 3,050 teachers to strengthen the education sector and address the shortage of qualified instructors in public schools across the state.

The announcement was made by the Executive Chairman of the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), Nasir Anka Garba, during a briefing at the weekend.

Garba said the approval reflects the state government’s commitment to revitalising the education system, particularly in public primary and junior secondary schools.

According to him, the recruitment exercise is part of the administration’s broader effort to strengthen basic education and ensure that schools have sufficient qualified teachers.

The ZSUBEB chairman noted that the recruitment will help improve the teacher-pupil ratio in schools across the state, while also enhancing teaching standards and learning outcomes.

He added that the move will expand access to basic education, especially in underserved and rural communities where shortages of teachers have affected academic performance.

Garba also said the initiative would strengthen the capacity of the basic education sub-sector and support the government’s long-term educational reform agenda.

Commitment to human capital development

He commended Governor Lawal for what he described as a timely intervention aimed at improving education in the state.

According to him, the governor’s decision demonstrates the administration’s dedication to human capital development and sustainable reforms in the education sector.

Garba assured residents that the recruitment exercise would be conducted in a transparent and merit-based manner, in line with existing rules and guidelines governing public sector employment.

He encouraged qualified and interested candidates to prepare for the recruitment process and take advantage of the opportunity to contribute to the development of education in Zamfara.

The ZSUBEB chairman expressed optimism that the recruitment drive will play a crucial role in improving learning standards and strengthening the education system in the state.
