Nigerian referee, Yemisi Akintoye, has been appointed to officiate the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations semi-final clash between Algeria and Malawi on Wednesday.

The highly anticipated encounter will take place at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat and is scheduled to kick off at 6pm Nigerian time.

The appointment marks the second time Akintoye will officiate a match at the ongoing tournament.

She previously handled the Group A encounter between Senegal and Kenya at the Olympic Stadium on July 30.

Akintoye, who is making her debut at Africa’s premier women’s football tournament, also served as the fourth official during the opening match of the competition between Algeria and Kenya.

Meanwhile, Togolese referee Vincentia Enyonam has been appointed to handle the second semi-final between hosts Morocco and Cameroon.

The second semi-final will be played at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat and will kick off at 9pm Nigerian time.

The winners of both semi-final fixtures will advance to the final of the 2026 WAFCON.
