U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that American forces carried out fresh military strikes on Iranian military installations, accusing Tehran of violating an existing ceasefire agreement.
In a statement posted on his social media platform, Trump said United States aircraft targeted Iranian missile and drone storage facilities as well as coastal radar sites.
“United States aircraft just struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations, and coastal radar sites, for violating the Cease Fire Agreement, AGAIN!” Trump wrote.
He warned that the United States could escalate its military response if Iran continues to breach the ceasefire.
“It is very possible that they will never learn! There may come a point when we are no longer able to be reasonable, and will be forced to militarily complete the job that we very successfully started,” he said.
Trump also issued one of his strongest warnings yet to Tehran, declaring that continued violations could threaten the future of the Iranian government.
“If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist!” he added.
The statement comes amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran despite efforts to maintain a ceasefire following recent hostilities.
As of the time of filing this report, Iranian authorities had not publicly responded to Trump’s claims or confirmed that the reported strikes had occurred. Independent verification of the alleged attacks was also not immediately available.
