The Jacksonville rapper, whose real name was Janarious Mykel Wheeler, was reportedly declared dead at 11:23 a.m. ET on Wednesday, as stated by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to journalists. The cause of his death has not yet been disclosed.
The CMG artist, born Janarious Mykel Wheeler, was said to have passed away on Wednesday.

As per his Ticketmaster page, Poppa was set to perform at the Fillmore in New Orleans on March 21. His latest single, “Out of Town Bae,” was released on February 13.
In 2022, Lil Poppa signed with Yo Gotti’s Collective Music Group (CMG) following the success of his mixtape series, Under Investigation.
The most recent installment, Under Investigation 3, came out in 2022.
In recent years, Lil Poppa released several albums, including Almost Normal Again in 2025. This LP featured singles like “Bout My Respect” and “Myself Again,” along with collaborations with artists such as Yungeen Ace and Mozzy.
After the album’s release, Poppa went on a twenty-date tour called the Almost Normal Again Tour and previously joined Rod Wave on the Last Lap Tour, with whom he collaborated on the song “Falling Fast.”
