President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has visited Jos to meet families affected by the recent wave of violence, assuring them of urgent steps to restore peace in Plateau State.
During the visit, Tinubu held a private meeting with relatives of victims, offering condolences and standing in solidarity with communities grappling with the aftermath of the attacks.
The engagement is part of ongoing federal efforts to evaluate the security situation and reassure residents of government intervention.
Speaking during the interaction, the President expressed profound grief over the loss of lives and destruction, stressing that the pain of affected families resonates across the nation.
“No Nigerian deserves to live in fear. We will not abandon you in this moment of grief,” he said, according to officials.
Tinubu reiterated his administration’s resolve to end the recurring violence, disclosing that security agencies have been tasked with intensifying operations, apprehending those responsible, and ensuring they face justice.
Officials say the visit reinforces the Federal Government’s commitment to tackling insecurity in Plateau, where repeated attacks have left many dead and others displaced.
State authorities described the President’s presence as a strong demonstration of federal concern, while community leaders continue to advocate sustained security action and long-term solutions to address the underlying causes of the crisis.
