President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended birthday wishes and warm congratulations to the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on the occasion of his birthday, May 1, 2026.
In a statement issued by the State House and signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga on Friday, President Tinubu joined family members, friends, associates, and well-wishers in celebrating the minister, describing him as a public servant whose time in office has been marked by focus, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility.
The President specifically commended Dr Tunji-Ojo for his contributions to public service, particularly his leadership in driving reforms within the Ministry of Interior.
According to the statement, President Tinubu noted that the minister has consistently demonstrated urgency and commitment in improving institutional processes, strengthening inter-agency coordination, and ensuring more efficient and accountable delivery of government services.
He also highlighted ongoing reforms within the ministry, including efforts to modernise immigration services, correctional administration, and border management systems, describing them as key components of the administration’s broader objective of building a secure, orderly, and well-regulated internal environment that supports national development.
President Tinubu further stressed that sustained reforms in the ministry are essential to improving service delivery and restoring public confidence in government institutions, adding that trust in governance is built through consistency, transparency, and measurable results.
The President praised the minister’s loyalty, work ethic, and alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda, stating that his contributions continue to support the administration’s drive to deliver tangible outcomes for Nigerians.
He concluded by praying for Almighty God to grant Dr Tunji-Ojo long life, good health, and continued service to the nation.
