Paris Saint-Germain Féminines have confirmed that Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade will undergo surgery after suffering a fractured fibula while on international duty with Nigeria.
The 26-year-old sustained the injury during Nigeria’s 5-0 victory over Comoros in the second leg of their 2028 Olympic Games qualifying tie at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, Ogun State.
Ajibade was forced off in the 23rd minute and replaced by Folashade Ijamilusi as the Super Falcons continued their campaign.
In a medical update, PSG said the Nigerian forward would be operated on by one of the club’s specialist surgeons before beginning rehabilitation under its medical team.
The French club expressed support for Ajibade and wished her a speedy recovery.
PSG have yet to announce a timeline for her return to competitive action, which will depend on her recovery and rehabilitation.
