- Vows to Remove Fulani from Farmlands
Sunday Igboho has conducted an inspection of part of the Old Oyo National Park in response to rising insecurity in Igboho and neighbouring communities in Oyo State.
Starnews NG reports that he visited the site on Saturday accompanied by a large entourage, where he condemned the occupation of the forest by Fulani herdsmen.
This is the same national park where the Oyo State governor previously stated that school pupils and teachers are still being held captive.
In a video circulating online, Igboho was heard threatening that once the school children are safely rescued, he will drive all Fulani out of the forests. He emphasized that any Fulani individual engaged in legal business should relocate to town, asserting, “We are human beings, not forest dwellers. That forest is meant for farmers to farms”, he added.
Igboho expressed his frustration, stating that the area was originally a farming community, but Fulani herders suddenly arrived, displacing local farmers and converting the land for kidnapping and other illegal activities.
