Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, has criticised Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke over his recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu.
Sowore reacted to photographs of the meeting in a post on his official X account on Thursday, questioning Adeleke’s decision to visit the President.
He wrote: “Governor Ademola Adeleke, the man who has his brains beneath his feet, has now gone to visit his preferred presidential candidate, failed Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu.”
Sowore also turned his attention to the violence that allegedly occurred during and after the August 15 Osun governorship election.
He claimed that “nearly 50 Osun citizens have been killed in election-related violence,” alleging that another person was killed on Wednesday near the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo.
The AAC candidate described Adeleke’s meeting with Tinubu as evidence of a political understanding between the two politicians, coming amid emerging political realignments ahead of the 2027 general election.
His comments come shortly after Adeleke secured a second term in office in the Osun governorship election and subsequently met with Tinubu in Abuja.
The meeting has attracted political attention as parties and politicians continue to position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
However, Sowore’s claim that nearly 50 people were killed in election-related violence was not independently verified in the report.
