The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced September 19 as the date for five by-elections scheduled to take place in four states.
The elections will be held in Gombe, Bauchi, Delta and Kano states, the electoral body said.
INEC Chief Press Secretary, Tunde Oketola, confirmed the development while speaking with newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday.
According to him, one of the contests will be for a federal constituency, while the remaining four will be state constituency elections.
In Gombe State, the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency will be the centre of the federal legislative contest.
Bauchi will host two state constituency elections in Disina and Sakwa.
The remaining contests are scheduled for Udu State Constituency in Delta State and Dawakin Kudu State Constituency in Kano.
