Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, is reportedly urging U.S. President Donald Trump to expand ongoing military actions against Iran, according to a report by The New York Times on Tuesday, March 24 2025.
Sources familiar with the discussions, claims the Crown Prince described the conflict as a “historic opportunity” to reshape the Middle East by force.
He is said to have pushed for a more aggressive approach that goes beyond limited strikes, suggesting that only the complete removal of Iran’s current government can guarantee long-term stability in the Gulf region.
The reported conversations allegedly took place during a series of high-level engagements over the past week. Sources said the Saudi leader believes decisive action against Tehran is necessary to eliminate future threats.
However, the report also highlights growing concerns among officials in both Saudi Arabia and the United States.
There are fears that escalating the conflict could trigger a wider regional war, with Iran possibly targeting key oil facilities across the Gulf, a move that could disrupt global energy supplies.
Military experts have also warned that deeper involvement could trap the United States in a prolonged conflict without a clear exit plan.
Despite the strong claims, there has been no official confirmation from Saudi authorities or representatives of the U.S. government. Iran has also denied any ongoing negotiations, even as tensions continue to rise.
The situation remains uncertain, with global observers calling for restraint amid fears that further escalation could destabilize the region.
