At least four people have been killed and five others injured after a Russian strike hit Kamianske in southeastern Ukraine.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Ganzha, confirmed the casualties on Saturday.
Ganzha said one of the injured victims, a 30-year-old woman, was receiving intensive care.
The attack came amid continued exchanges of long-range missiles and drones between Russian and Ukrainian forces.
The latest strike also occurred despite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s proposal for a temporary ceasefire ahead of an expected visit by United States envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
Witkoff and Kushner are President Donald Trump’s lead negotiators in efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war.
Trump has said the two envoys have presented a proposal aimed at breaking the diplomatic deadlock and advancing negotiations to end the conflict.
The fresh attack underscores the continuing challenges facing diplomatic efforts to secure a ceasefire, as Russian and Ukrainian forces continue long-range attacks.
