A TikTok prophet, identified as Woli Arugbo Ojo, has reportedly been arrested in Ibadan, Oyo State, following controversy over his claim that late gospel singer Toluwanisings would return to life.

According to a report by Intel Region, the prophet was allegedly taken into custody on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, after the late singer’s personal assistant reportedly lodged a complaint with the police.

The complaint was said to have followed the prophet’s public statements predicting the singer’s resurrection and making allegations against the personal assistant in connection with the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death. Police reportedly asked him to provide evidence to support his claims.

Wife cries out over reported arrest. In a video reportedly shared on the prophet’s TikTok page, his wife appealed to Nigerians at home and abroad to help establish her husband’s whereabouts.

She claimed that he had been taken away and expressed concern that she could not reach him. She also defended his statements, insisting that he had acted on what he believed was a divine instruction.

However, the police had not publicly confirmed the reported arrest or issued an official statement on the matter as of the time of publication. The circumstances surrounding the alleged arrest therefore remain unclear.

Controversy following Toluwanisings’ death. Toluwanisings, whose real name was Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, died in Ibadan on October 14, 2026, after reportedly collapsing at home.

His death has generated controversy, including claims by his personal assistant that efforts to obtain emergency medical treatment at several hospitals were unsuccessful. The circumstances surrounding the singer’s death have not been conclusively established in the reports reviewed.

The controversy has also involved disagreements within the singer’s family over his burial arrangements and legal threats by gospel entertainers over unverified allegations linking them to his death. Those allegations have not been established as fact.

For now, the reported arrest of Woli Arugbo Ojo remains unconfirmed by the police, while his wife’s appeal has added another development to the ongoing controversy surrounding the late singer.
