Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has released a fresh prophecy warning that worsening insecurity could threaten President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
Ayodele warned that insecurity could become a major challenge for the Tinubu administration as the country moves closer to the 2027 elections, with the situation potentially worsening towards the end of 2026.
The cleric made the prediction in a statement issued on Tuesday by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin.
According to Ayodele, November and December could bring increased security tensions across the country, with the development potentially triggering public protests and growing dissatisfaction with the government.
He cautioned that politicians could be kidnapped and campaign convoys attacked if the security situation is not urgently brought under control.
“Security will be one of the things people will be complaining about. Security will be more tense by November/December, and this can discredit his government,” Ayodele said.
He urged President Tinubu to take stronger measures to address insecurity, arguing that the efforts of security agencies have not yet gone deep enough to tackle the challenges.
“The security operatives are trying, but they haven’t gone deep; they are only scratching the surface,” he said.
Ayodele further warned that insecurity could affect political campaigns, potentially preventing politicians from freely moving around or holding campaign activities in some parts of the country.
He said the consequences could extend beyond individual politicians to campaign convoys and political gatherings.
The cleric acknowledged the efforts of security personnel but maintained that more decisive action was needed before the situation deteriorates further.
His warning comes amid growing political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections, in which Tinubu is expected to seek another term in office.
