Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has called on women of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to intensify grassroots mobilisation and sensitisation efforts by promoting the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda across the country.
The First Lady made the call on Tuesday in Abuja during the inauguration of the national secretariat of the Tinubu Torchbearers, a grassroots mobilisation platform established to showcase and communicate the achievements of the current administration to ordinary Nigerians.
Represented by the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Mrs Tinubu said her Renewed Hope Initiative has complemented the federal government’s development agenda by supporting vulnerable groups in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to her, millions of women and disadvantaged Nigerians have benefited from the initiative, stressing that APC members must ensure that these success stories reach communities across the nation.
She urged party women to take the message of the administration’s achievements to every part of the country, noting that beneficiaries should be reminded of the impact of government programmes on their lives.
“There are many stories of progress and prosperity to tell. We must go to every corner of the nation and share these stories so that Nigerians can hear them and appreciate the benefits of the Renewed Hope Initiative,” she said.
Speaking at the event, APC National Women Leader, Mary Alile Idele, said Nigerians are already witnessing reforms and strategic interventions aimed at improving the country’s future.
She commended the First Lady for her commitment to the welfare and empowerment of women, children and vulnerable groups through the Renewed Hope Initiative, describing her interventions as impactful across different sectors of society.
Alile-Idele also praised the leadership of the Tinubu Torchbearers for promoting the administration’s programmes at the grassroots level.
She disclosed that the newly inaugurated secretariat would coordinate weekly intercessory prayer sessions for Nigeria and the Tinubu administration throughout the campaign period and beyond.
According to her, the prayer gatherings will involve ordained female ministers, royal sisters, prayer networks and the Northern Muslim Women Assembly, reflecting a belief in the importance of spiritual support alongside governance and policy implementation.
She reiterated that the Tinubu Torchbearers was created to strengthen grassroots engagement and ensure that Nigerians remain informed about the achievements and programmes of the Renewed Hope administration.
