Police Arrest Three Over Possession of Human Body Parts in Oyo

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three suspects over the unlawful possession and alleged sale of human body parts in Ibadan, Oyo State.

The arrests were confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, by the police authorities.

According to the police, the suspects were apprehended during a stop-and-search operation in the Adekile area of Agugu, where officers intercepted a motorcycle carrying a suspicious package. Upon inspection, the security operatives discovered what was believed to be human body parts concealed inside the package.

Investigations revealed that the primary suspect allegedly obtained the body parts from an unidentified source and later sold them to two other individuals, who were subsequently tracked and arrested by the police. All three suspects have reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crime.

The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further inquiry, with authorities assuring that the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of investigations.

The incident underscores growing fears about ritual activities and criminal networks, reinforcing calls for stricter law enforcement and community vigilance across Nigeria.
