The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspected gang leader believed to be behind a series of armed robbery attacks in Dadease and YawNkruma communities in the Ashanti Region, marking a significant breakthrough in ongoing security operations targeting organised criminal networks.
April 29, 2026 — According to police intelligence reports, the suspect was apprehended following sustained surveillance and coordinated operations linked to multiple robbery incidents that have terrorised residents and transport users along affected routes.
Authorities say the arrest forms part of a broader crackdown on armed robbery syndicates operating across parts of southern Ghana.
Preliminary investigations suggest the suspect allegedly led a group responsible for coordinated attacks involving theft of cash and valuables from victims in the affected communities.
Several accomplices are also reportedly being pursued as security agencies intensify efforts to dismantle the wider network.
