Police Arrest 10 Suspects Over Killing of Benue MACBAN Chairman

The Benue State Police Command has arrested 10 suspects in connection with the killing of the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the state, Ardo Risku Mohammed, and his associate, Yakubu Isa.

The arrests followed intelligence gathering and coordinated tactical operations conducted by police operatives in Otukpo on the night of June 27, marking a major breakthrough in the investigation.

Police identified the suspects as Titus Thyodenda, Utibe Sam, Owoicho Ameh, Sunday Useni, Sunday Ogbanje, Daniel Raphael, Adokole John, Samuel Ogazi, Agbo Daniel and Onazi James.

The Commissioner of Police in Benue State, Cletus Nwadiogbu, commended officers involved in the operation for their swift response and professionalism, describing the arrests as a significant step towards securing justice for the victims.

He assured residents that investigations remain ongoing, adding that efforts have been intensified to identify and apprehend other individuals connected to the killings.

The police boss reaffirmed the command’s commitment to prosecuting everyone found culpable in accordance with the law and appealed to residents to remain calm while continuing to provide useful information to security agencies.

The Command reiterated its resolve to protect lives and property and sustain peace and security across Benue State.
