Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has intensified criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging him to “pack your luggage and go back home” to confront Nigeria’s worsening insecurity and economic hardship instead of continued foreign engagements. Obi argued that Nigerians deserve active leadership at a time of rising hunger, killings, unemployment, and public frustration.
In recent statements shared through his official communication channels, Obi accused the Tinubu administration of failing to adequately respond to growing national challenges, including violent attacks, kidnappings, inflation, and worsening living conditions across the country.
He maintained that governance requires physical presence, urgency, and accountability rather than repeated explanations and overseas trips.
The former Anambra State governor also questioned the federal government’s handling of security and economic policies, insisting that millions of Nigerians are struggling daily while political leaders appear disconnected from the realities on the ground.
His comments have generated intense political debate online, especially among supporters and critics ahead of growing conversations surrounding the 2027 presidential election.
The Presidency has repeatedly defended Tinubu’s foreign trips and policy direction, stating that the administration remains focused on economic reforms, investment attraction, and national security despite opposition criticism.
