Popular Nigerian content creator Habeeb Hamzat, better known as Peller, has threatened legal action against a self-acclaimed ‘babalawo’ over claims that spiritual powers helped him become famous.
The controversy began after the traditionalist alleged that Peller once visited his shrine, pleaded for spiritual assistance and later became successful but failed to honour an agreement between them.
Peller has rejected the allegations, describing them as an attempt to attract attention and benefit from the controversy.
In a video circulating online, the TikTok star warned the man to stop making the claims and alleged that he could face legal consequences over his statements.
Peller alleged that the man initially presented the story as entertainment content but changed his approach after the claims began attracting serious attention from social media users.
He further claimed that the controversy had significantly increased the man’s TikTok following, alleging that the account grew from about 4,000 followers to 65,000.
“The page had 4,000 followers on TikTok, now it has 65,000 followers. He has changed his page to look like a real juju man page,” Peller alleged.
Peller also accused the man of allegedly exploiting the attention by collecting money from people who believed his claims, warning that he would not back down from any potential legal action.
The content creator said he was concerned that some Nigerians were taking the spiritual claims seriously and showing interest in the alleged services of the self-acclaimed traditionalist.
Reacting to the debate online, Peller questioned why some people were still entertaining the allegations in 2026.
