Popular TikToker Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, and his associate, Bello Oladipo, have been arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate Court over allegations of resisting and obstructing police officers, threatening security personnel and recording them while they were carrying out official duties.
The prosecution followed an incident on July 2, 2026, along the Lagos Coastal Road, where Peller was intercepted by officers for allegedly driving a vehicle without a registration number plate.
According to police, the content creator claimed he had only recently purchased the vehicle. However, officers insisted the car be taken to the station for further investigation.
The encounter reportedly escalated after Peller began recording the interaction with his mobile phone. He later alleged that the officers became hostile, claiming one officer grabbed his shirt and pointed a firearm at him during the confrontation.
Following the incident, Peller and Oladipo were charged before the court on a three-count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy, resisting public officers and obstructing police officers in the lawful discharge of their duties.
According to the charge sheet, the defendants allegedly conspired to resist police officers, an offence punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The prosecution further alleged that both men obstructed ASP Agbede Victor and three other officers while they were carrying out their lawful responsibilities at about 8:00 p.m. on July 2 along Coastal Road, Lekki.
The offence, the police said, contravenes Section 117 (1) and (2) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The case is expected to proceed before the Lagos Magistrate Court in line with the criminal charges filed against the two defendants.
