The People’s Democratic Party has officially announced Goodluck Jonathan as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
The announcement was shared on their official social media handle.
Party leaders described the decision as a strategic move aimed at strengthening the PDP’s chances in the next presidential contest. Supporters of the former president have welcomed the development, expressing confidence in his experience and leadership credentials.
Jonathan served as Nigeria’s president between 2010 and 2015 and remains one of the country’s most recognisable political figures. His emergence as the PDP’s candidate is expected to generate widespread debate and reshape political calculations ahead of the 2027 election.
