Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi, has called on Nigerian security agencies to urgently rescue abducted schoolchildren and teachers held captive by terrorists in Oyo State and other parts of the country. The cleric also demanded a sincere national dialogue aimed at addressing the root causes of Nigeria’s worsening insecurity and social instability.
Speaking on Friday, May 29, 2026, Adeyemi described the continued abduction of children and innocent citizens as a national tragedy capable of destroying public trust and the future of young Nigerians. He expressed concern over reports that some victims, including a two-year-old child, remain exposed to harsh weather and traumatic conditions while in captivity.
The pastor argued that insecurity in Nigeria can no longer be treated as only a military problem, insisting that poverty, unemployment, failed governance, weak institutions, and lack of opportunities continue to fuel violence and criminality across the country.
Adeyemi’s comments come amid growing national outrage over repeated attacks on schools and communities, with many Nigerians demanding stronger security reforms, improved intelligence gathering, and urgent government action to protect lives and restore confidence in public safety.
