Relationship coach and pastor, Kingsley Okonkwo, is charging single Christians between N70,000 and N700,000 annually through a new matchmaking platform designed to connect serious members with potential marriage partners.
The platform, known as Mentor To Marry, offers different membership packages, with fees determined by the level of matchmaking support and access selected by participants.
Okonkwo, the lead pastor of David’s Christian Centre, announced the initiative on X, describing it as a community created for Christian singles seeking intentional, faith-based relationships that could lead to marriage.
The relationship coach said finding genuine love has become increasingly challenging amid what he described as the growing commercialisation of modern relationships.
He, however, clarified that the platform was not based on the notion that women were primarily interested in money, stressing that many godly women were also searching for serious Christian men.
According to information provided by the platform, intending members must first undergo marriage preparation before gaining access to its matchmaking services.
The process begins with an eight-week programme involving mentoring, assessments and guided reflection before members are considered for recommendations and introductions.
Mentor To Marry offers three membership categories.
The Regular plan, which costs N70,000 annually, provides mentoring classes, assessments, limited profile access, accountability support, weekly chats and access to a country-based matching pool.
The Premium plan, priced at N350,000 annually, offers unlimited profile browsing, monthly recommendations, priority coaching and access to global profiles.
The VIP plan, which costs N700,000 per year, includes a dedicated matchmaker and coach, priority access to the platform’s founders, additional weekly chats, off-platform introductions, profile protection and global matching opportunities.
The platform, however, noted that payment of a membership fee does not guarantee that a participant will find a match, experience mutual attraction or eventually get married.
Mentor To Marry is operated by Love, Dating and Marriage Ministries, a Nigerian-registered non-profit organisation, and is targeted at Christians aged 25 and above.
Participants are required to be unmarried, divorced or widowed and must provide truthful information regarding their identity and marital status.
The platform also prohibits sexual harassment, exploitation, fraud, catfishing, explicit content and financial exploitation.
Okonkwo and his wife, Mildred Okonkwo, are listed among the founders, with the initiative highlighting their experience in pastoral care, relationship counselling and marriage mentoring.
Beyond introducing singles to potential partners, the platform said its broader objective is to prepare participants emotionally, spiritually and practically for the marriages they hope to build.
A free singles community is also available for Christians interested in marriage but who are not yet ready to subscribe to any of the paid membership plans.
