Oyo School Principal Speaks From Captivity As Number of Abducted Victims Rises to 46

Fresh details have emerged regarding the recent school kidnapping incident in Oyo State, as the Principal of Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, Mrs. Rachael Alamu, was reportedly heard speaking from captivity.

The latest development has heightened anxiety among residents and families following reports that the number of abducted victims is significantly higher than earlier reported.

According to information made available, a total of 46 persons were reportedly abducted during the attack, comprising seven teachers and 39 students and pupils from affected communities.

Sources disclosed that the affected institutions include Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, and Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School, both located within communities in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

It was further gathered that the attackers allegedly snatched four motorcycles during the operation. Reports indicate that three motorcycles were taken from Yawota community, while one was allegedly taken from Community High School.

Among the seven teachers reportedly abducted are the Principal of Community High School, Mrs. Alamu Folawe (Rachael Alamu), Vice Principal Mr. Ojo Jonathan, Mr. Olatunde Zacchaeus, Mr. John Olaleye, Mr. Michael Oyedokun, Mrs. Oladeji, and Mary Akanbi, a teacher at Yawota Baptist Nursery and Primary School.

The abducted students and pupils were reportedly taken from different communities including Ahoro-Esinele, Yawota, Oniya and Alawusa communities.

Those affected include children between the ages of two and sixteen, a development that has sparked serious concern among residents and parents.

Sources within the communities said panic and uncertainty have continued to grow as families await updates on the condition and possible release of their loved ones.

The revelation that the school principal was able to communicate from captivity has raised hopes among residents that efforts may be ongoing to establish contact with the abductors.

Security agencies have yet to issue a detailed official statement on the latest figures and developments surrounding the incident.

As of the time of filing this report, rescue efforts and security operations were reportedly ongoing, while residents and stakeholders continued to call on authorities to intensify efforts toward securing the safe return of all victims.

The incident has once again raised concerns over the safety of schools and rural communities amid recurring cases of abductions across parts of the country.
