The founder and presiding bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo, has criticised the Federal Government over the worsening insecurity across Nigeria, saying authorities have not done enough to halt the wave of killings and abductions.
Speaking during the church’s Sunday service, Oyedepo declared that he would not pray for those behind the killings but instead pray against them and their sponsors, insisting that anyone sponsoring violence would face divine judgment.
The cleric also questioned what he described as the government’s silence over the killings, asking, “Are human lives no longer of value anymore?” He accused the authorities of pretending not to know how to tackle the security crisis.
However, the Federal Government has repeatedly condemned attacks by terrorists and other criminal groups in recent months, although it has faced criticism over the effectiveness of its response.
Oyedepo’s remarks come amid renewed attacks across the country, including the abduction of worshippers during church services and killings in several communities.
