Outrage in Ado-Ekiti: Youths Torch Vehicle After Fatal Hit-and-Run Incident

In Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, angry youths in the Atikankan area set fire to a brand-new vehicle belonging to a suspected internet fraudster, colloquially referred to as a “Yahoo Boy,” following a tragic incident where the vehicle ran over a local meat seller.

Witnesses reported that the vehicle was approaching from the Ijigbo axis at high speed when it struck the meat seller, who was working at the main junction. The impact was severe, reportedly resulting in one of the victim’s legs being crushed beyond repair.

The incident incited outrage among local youths, who confronted both the driver and the vehicle’s occupant before ultimately setting the car ablaze in protest.

The occupant of the vehicle has since been handed over to security agencies for further investigation.
