By Opeyemi Adelakun

Accord Party candidate and Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has recorded a significant polling-unit victory over the All Progressives Congress at the voting centre of former governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

The result, from Court Hall I, Okuku, in Odo-Otin Local Government Area, showed Adeleke’s Accord Party polling 125 votes, ahead of the APC’s 85 votes.

The African Democratic Congress came a distant third with five votes.

Other results from the unit showed the African Action Congress with two votes, while the Social Democratic Party, Young Progressives Party and Zenith Labour Party recorded one vote each.

Several other parties, including the Action Alliance, ADP, APGA, APM, APP, Boot Party, NNPP and PRP, failed to secure any vote at the polling unit.

The result sheet showed that 228 voters were accredited, with 220 valid votes cast and eight ballots rejected.

Adeleke therefore defeated the APC by 40 votes at the polling unit associated with Oyinlola, who governed Osun State from 2003 to 2010.
