The Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) electronic Result Viewing Portal (IReV) is yet to reflect all polling-unit results from the 2026 Osun State governorship election, despite the commission’s declaration of Governor Ademola Adeleke as the winner.
As of 10:05 a.m. on Monday, August 17, the portal showed that results from 3,740 of the 3,763 polling units expected from the election had been uploaded.
The figure represents 99.39 per cent of the total results, leaving 23 polling-unit result sheets outstanding.
The incomplete upload comes after INEC concluded the physical collation of results and declared Adeleke the winner of the August 15 election.
Available figures on the portal indicate that several local government areas have recorded complete uploads. They include Ife North, Irepodun, Egbedore, Ayedaade, Ede South, Ola-Oluwa, Ila, Iwo, Atakumosa East, Boluwaduro, Isokan, Oriade, Orolu and Ife South.
However, the remaining 23 polling-unit results are distributed across 16 local government areas.
In Ife East, 199 of 200 expected results had been uploaded, while Odo-Otin had 120 of 121 and Irewole 137 of 138.
Ifedayo recorded 62 of 63 uploads, Ilesa West had 118 of 121, and Ayedire had 66 of 67.
Other gaps were recorded in Ife Central, with 212 of 215 results uploaded; Ejigbo, 132 of 133; and Ede North, 138 of 139.
Boripe had 110 of 112 results uploaded, Osogbo 281 of 282, Atakumosa West 75 of 76, Olorunda 192 of 193 and Obokun 99 of 100.
Ilesa East had 129 of 132 results uploaded, while Ifelodun recorded 144 of 145.
INEC declared Adeleke the winner of the governorship election on Sunday after he secured 511,067 votes.
The Accord candidate defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, came third with 17,180 votes.
According to the final figures announced by INEC, 1,005,800 votes were cast during the election. Of these, 985,079 were declared valid, while 20,721 were rejected.
Adeleke emerged victorious after recording the highest aggregate vote across the state’s 30 local government areas.
Outstanding Uploads Raise Transparency Questions
Although the 23 results yet to appear on IReV do not, based on the declared figures, appear sufficient to alter the outcome announced by INEC, the incomplete electronic record leaves a gap in the public documentation of the election.
IReV is designed to allow voters, political parties, observers and other interested parties to view polling-unit result sheets electronically, making the completion of the upload an important part of electoral transparency.
INEC officials also announced during the collation process that results from some polling units had been cancelled over alleged cases of over-voting.
It remains unclear whether any of the 23 result sheets still missing from the IReV portal relate to polling units affected by those cancellations.
