The Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission has listed nine completed projects across Ilaje and Ese-Odo Local Government Areas for commissioning by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
The projects, according to the commission, are part of efforts aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing the living conditions of residents in the mandate areas.
Among the completed projects awaiting inauguration are the General Hospital in Agada-Obon, Ese-Odo Local Government Area, and the 1km Igbotu Township Road in Ese-Odo.
Others include a 1,000-metre concrete walkway with jetty at Obe-Nla in Ilaje Local Government Area, as well as concrete landing walkways at Obe-Rewoye, Obe-Ogbaro, Obe-Magbe and Obe Lomore communities.
The commission noted that the projects were designed to address critical infrastructure needs, particularly in riverine communities where transportation and access remain major challenges.
In addition to the completed projects, OSOPADEC disclosed that two new projects have been flagged off by its Executive Chairman.
The projects are the 1km Sabomi Township Road in Ese-Odo Local Government Area and a Naval Security Post with jetties at Atijere in Ilaje Local Government Area.
The commission stated that the projects reflect its commitment to promoting sustainable development, improving security and expanding access to social amenities in oil-producing communities across the state.
Residents and stakeholders have expressed optimism that the projects will contribute significantly to economic growth and improve the quality of life in the affected communities.
Governor Aiyedatiwa is expected to commission the completed projects in the coming days as part of activities highlighting his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development in the state’s riverine areas.
