Toronto, Canada – The Ondo Unity Network in Toronto has expressed strong support for the impressive infrastructure development initiatives led by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, asserting that his administration is set to surpass the achievements of all past governors. This collective statement was issued after a decision was approved by two-thirds of the group members during a meeting on Saturday morning in Toronto.
The diaspora group praised the aggressive infrastructure projects transforming Ondo State, emphasising that if the current momentum is maintained, Governor Aiyedatiwa is on a clear path to historic accomplishments.
In their statement, signed by the President Adetimehin Olusola and Vice President Ayenumelo Eunice, the group highlighted the strategic rehabilitation of urban roads, modernisation of traffic systems, and the creation of rural-linking networks, which are fundamentally altering the economic landscape of the Sunshine State. They noted that these advancements align perfectly with the newly launched Diaspora Smart City Project and upcoming global investment initiatives, such as the 2026 Nigeria Diaspora Economic Conference (NIDEC) scheduled for Toronto.
“What stands out about Governor Aiyedatiwa’s approach is equity,” the statement reads. “We are witnessing a synchronized transformation where no zone is left behind. From the capital city of Akure to the southern coastal areas of Ilaje and Okitipupa, and up into the northern hills of Akoko, the administration is making the state accessible, secure, and highly viable for international commerce.”

The Ondo Unity Network issued an open invitation to potential investors, stating that improved road infrastructure serves as a vital catalyst for international remittances and investments. By effectively connecting rural agricultural centres with major urban hubs, the government is actively reducing the cost of doing business back home.
“As indigenes living abroad, our biggest fear has always been the lack of enabling infrastructure to support our agricultural and real estate investments,” the group expressed. “Governor Aiyedatiwa is systematically removing that fear. We are immensely proud of his vision, and we urge his administration to maintain this lightning pace to fully unlock Ondo’s potential as a premier economic gateway in Nigeria.”
This endorsement from the Ondo Unity Network underscores a growing optimism about the future of infrastructure and economic development in Ondo State, as Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration continues to pursue ambitious projects aimed at enhancing the quality of life for all residents.
