Ondo Appoints Chief Segun Odusanya as New Head of Public Service

June 5, 2026 – The Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has officially approved the appointment of Chief Segun Odusanya as the new Head of Public Service, effective June 6, 2026. This appointment comes in the wake of the retirement of Mr. Bayo Philips, to whom the Governor expressed gratitude for his significant contributions to the development of the state and extended best wishes for his future endeavors.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, Governor Aiyedatiwa urged the new Head of Service to leverage his extensive experience to drive the OUR EASE administration towards achieving its goals.

Chief Odusanya was born on February 6, 1967, into the family of Venerable and Mrs. Emmanuel Odusanya (both of blessed memory). He attended St. Peter’s Primary School in Ile-Oluji and Gboluji Anglican Grammar School for his primary and secondary education from 1972 to 1983.

He furthered his education at Obafemi Awolowo University (then University of Ife), where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture (B. Agric.) in 1989. He later returned to the same esteemed institution to earn a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Studies (P.G.D.M.S.) in 1992. In pursuit of further knowledge, he attended the University of Ado-Ekiti in 1998 to obtain a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), which he completed in 2000.

Chief Odusanya joined the Ondo State Public Service in September 1995 and has held various positions across different ministries and agencies. He was appointed as a Permanent Secretary in 2019, serving in the Ministry of Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, the Ondo State Civil Service Commission, the Ministry of Transport, and currently in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. He also serves as the Chairman of the Forum of Permanent Secretaries in Ondo State.

A member of several professional organizations, Chief Odusanya is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (FCIPM), the Chartered Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria (FCIPAN), and the Chartered Institute of Local Government Administration (FCLA). He is married to Lady Oluwatoyin Odusanya and is blessed with three children.
