Hon. Bidemi Joshua Obayangban has expressed heartfelt appreciation to Oba Williams Akinmusayo Akinlade, the Halu of Aye Kingdom for endorsing him as the preferred candidate of Ode-Aye Community ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election in Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency of Ondo State.
During a courtesy visit to the monarch on Tuesday, Obayangban thanked the traditional ruler and the council for their support, describing the endorsement as a major boost to his political aspiration.
The visit also provided an opportunity for the aspirant to receive royal blessings from the revered king, a gesture seen as a significant cultural and moral endorsement of his candidacy.
Speaking during the visit, Obayangban said, “Kabiyesi, I am here to say thank you for my endorsement by the traditional council under your leadership. I am deeply honoured and inspired by the overwhelming support from this ancient throne, the royal household, and the entire community.”
He added, “If I secure the APC ticket and emerge victorious in the general election, I assure you that I will not disappoint the people of Aye Kingdom.”
Obayangban further noted that the endorsement reflects the collective aspiration of the people of Aye Kingdom to achieve representation at the National Assembly, pledging to work diligently to actualise that goal.
The visit underscored the growing support for his candidacy within the community, as well as the importance of traditional institutions in shaping political direction at the grassroots level.
