The Nigeria Customs Service Volleyball Club kicked off their 2025 Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) Super Cup journey with an impressive straight-sets win against Life Camp VC at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
In the first match, Customs took control early with aggressive serves and strong blocks, winning the opening set 25–21, despite Life Camp’s determined efforts.
The Customs team strengthened their lead in the second set, demonstrating excellent coordination and quick transitions to secure a 25–18 victory, frustrating Life Camp further.
The third set was more competitive, but Customs maintained their momentum to win it 25–23, achieving a convincing 3–0 overall victory and establishing themselves as serious contenders for the Super Cup title.
Earlier, the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS) Volleyball Club also achieved a solid 3–0 win over Ajase Ipo from Ilorin in another men’s match.
The first set was highly competitive, with Ajase Ipo pushing NCS to their limits before the Correctional Service team narrowly won 28–26 through composed play at crucial moments.
NCS then demonstrated clear dominance in the second set, enhancing their defensive organization and attacking effectiveness to win 25–17.
Although Ajase Ipo fought back in the third set, NCS once again showed discipline and experience, closing it out 25–23 for another straight-sets victory.
In the women’s matches on Day 1 of the Super Cup, COAS Spikers achieved a comfortable 3–0 victory over Fire Service, winning the sets 25–21, 25–12, and 25–16 to start their campaign strongly.
CNS Spikers also secured a 3–0 win against Excelsior, winning all three sets 25–0, 25–0, and 25–0, as Excelsior was unable to field a full team.
On Day 2 of the NVBF Super Cup Tournament, held today in Abuja, the Chief of Naval Staff Volleyball team faced Ajase Ipo, aiming for their second consecutive win in the first men’s match.
In another men’s game, the Defender Volleyball team will compete against the Nigeria Customs Service. Both matches are scheduled for 2 PM and 4 PM, respectively.
In the women’s category, the Nigeria Customs Service will take on the Fire Volleyball team at 10 AM, while the Vipers Volleyball team will face off against the Chief of Naval Staff Volleyball team at noon.
The eight-day championship has generated excitement among fans and spectators who flocked to the indoor stadium to catch a glimpse of the tournament.
