Rangers International defender Oputa Chibueze Calistus has been named the club’s Player of the Month for September 2026.

Oputa clinched the award after polling 627 votes to defeat seven other nominees in the club’s monthly poll.

According to Daily Post, the defender beat Igwilo Chimaobi, Azeez Falolu, Daniel Itodo, Austin Opara, Iwundu Chidozie, Abuchi Okereke and Lucky Jimoh to emerge as the winner.

The award recognises Oputa’s impressive performances for the Enugu-based club during the month under review.

Rangers, popularly known as the Flying Antelopes, described the defender’s emergence as a deserving recognition following the outcome of the poll.

Oputa will now look to maintain his form and continue contributing to Rangers’ performances as the 2026/2027 Nigeria Premier Football League season progresses.
