Nottingham Forest still feeling Ola Aina’s absence despite Toffolo’s strong showing — Pundit

Football pundit Nizaar Kinsella has highlighted the continued importance of Ola Aina to Nottingham Forest, stating that the club still misses the Nigerian defender, even though Harry Toffolo impressed in the recent clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Aina has been out of action due to a calf injury he picked up during Forest’s 1-0 win over Manchester United. His absence has seen him miss critical Premier League matches against Aston Villa, Everton, and Spurs.

Speaking on BBC Sport, Kinsella described Aina as one of the most underrated players in the league and emphasized that Nottingham Forest have felt his absence on the pitch.

“Ola Aina is one of the Premier League’s most underappreciated talents, and Nottingham Forest are clearly missing his presence,” Kinsella noted.

Although Forest has managed just one win in three games without Aina, Kinsella did acknowledge Toffolo’s contribution in their recent victory over Tottenham, particularly his goal-line clearance to deny Dejan Kulusevski.

“With Nuno Espirito Santo working hard to fill the gap left by Aina, Harry Toffolo has stepped up well, especially with his crucial intervention today to help maintain the clean sheet,” Kinsella added.

Before his injury, Aina had been a consistent performer for Forest this season, making 32 appearances across all competitions, with two goals and an assist to his name. Known for his defensive solidity and attacking support, he has become a fan favorite.

As the season draws to a close, Forest supporters will be eager to see Aina return to full fitness — both to strengthen their squad for the final run-in and to show he’s ready for potential international duty with the Super Eagles at the upcoming Unity Cup.
