Popular Nigerian music producer and singer, ID Cabasa, has expressed deep concern over the growing level of violence and insecurity across Nigeria, lamenting that many citizens have gradually become emotionally numb to killings, kidnappings, and brutality. Speaking in a viral video interview, the entertainer said Nigerians now appear to have “adjusted to evil” and become accustomed to darkness and suffering in the country.
Cabasa’s comments followed renewed public outrage over recent violent incidents, including kidnappings and killings in parts of the country.
He criticised what he described as the increasing normalization of tragedy, arguing that citizens often move on quickly from horrific events without sustained demand for accountability or justice.
The music producer also accused political, ethnic, and religious divisions of weakening collective national outrage against insecurity and poor governance.
According to him, many Nigerians now interpret national issues through tribal or political lenses instead of confronting the broader humanitarian crisis affecting the country.
His remarks have sparked conversations on social media, with many Nigerians agreeing that constant exposure to violence has created fear, fatigue, and public desensitization toward insecurity and human suffering nationwide.
