Major General Suleiman Tilawan, Commander of Sector 3 Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) of the Nigerian Army, commissioned a newly built Sector 3 Equipment Support Workshop at Kinnasara Cantonment in Monguno, Borno State, on March 4, 2026.

Tilawan, who leads military operations against Boko Haram and allied extremist groups in the Lake Chad basin, presided over the inauguration to enhance the army’s capacity to maintain, repair and service critical military vehicles and equipment deployed in this high‑intensity security theatre.

The facility was established to boost operational readiness, reduce downtime of essential assets on the frontline and support uninterrupted counter‑insurgency missions in northern Nigeria. In remarks during the ceremony, Tilawan emphasized that modern infrastructure for logistical and technical support is indispensable for sustaining troop effectiveness and safeguarding personnel life and equipment performance during prolonged operations.

The commissioning aligns with broader Nigerian Army efforts to reinforce logistical support structures, improve maintenance efficiency and strengthen defensive posture in insurgency‑affected regions. This strategic step reflects a shift toward self‑sustaining operational frameworks that can keep pace with evolving security demands across Borno and neighbouring areas.
