Nigeria is gradually becoming a nation where political ambition appears more important than human life. While insecurity continues to destroy families and communities across the country, many politicians remain deeply occupied with party primaries, power calculations, and electoral mathematics instead of confronting the national security emergency facing ordinary citizens.
Recent reports and security estimates suggest that millions of Nigerians have either been kidnapped, displaced, or forced into captivity by bandits, terrorists, and criminal gangs operating across different regions. From Zamfara to Kaduna, Benue, Niger, Plateau, and parts of the South-East, fear has become a daily reality for countless citizens struggling to survive worsening violence and economic hardship.
Yet, amid these painful realities, political actors continue celebrating questionable delegate figures, controversial primaries, and power struggles as though governance exists separately from the suffering of the people.
Many Nigerians now openly question whether those in leadership truly understand the scale of pain spreading across the country.
If insecurity continues unchecked at the current rate, the consequences in the coming years could become catastrophic for national stability, economic growth, and social cohesion. A nation where citizens no longer feel protected cannot prosper.
Nigeria urgently needs leadership focused on security, justice, accountability, and human dignity rather than endless political calculations while communities continue to mourn daily losses.
