A Kano-based legal practitioner, Barrister Abdulsalam Ginsau, has reportedly lost his life after being trapped inside a hotel elevator in Abuja.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear as of press time. However, early accounts suggest the lawyer may have suffocated after being stuck in the lift for a prolonged period.
The incident was confirmed by former senator, Shehu Sani, who described the development as deeply unfortunate in a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
According to him, “The case of Barrister Abdulsalam Ginsau from Kano is very pathetic. He was trapped in an Abuja hotel lift and suffocated to death.”
Sani raised concerns about possible causes, including a power outage or mechanical failure, questioning whether the elevator stopped midway due to technical issues or if it was simply a tragic accident.
The incident has triggered reactions across social media, with many Nigerians pointing to persistent infrastructure challenges such as unreliable power supply and inadequate maintenance of facilities.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement, while further details are expected as investigations continue.
