The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has officially opened its online registration portal for individuals intending to perform the 2025 hajj.
According to The PUNCH, this announcement was made by the board’s Executive Secretary, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, on Wednesday, signaling the start of preparations for the upcoming pilgrimage.
The registration is specifically for those who wish to travel through the Kwara State system, as outlined in the board’s new directives.
In a statement released by the board’s Press Secretary, Jumoke Jimoh, from Ilorin, the state capital, further details about the process were provided.
The statement pointed out that all interested applicants must complete an online registration form before taking the next step.
This online system is aimed at simplifying the application process and ensuring a seamless experience for those looking to embark on the spiritual journey.
Once the registration form has been completed, intending pilgrims are required to raise a bank draft in the sum of N8.5 million, which will cover the cost of the pilgrimage.
Alhaji Abdulkadir emphasized the importance of this requirement, stating, “The bank draft should be submitted at the board’s headquarters,” marking it as a crucial part of the application process.
The submission of the bank draft will officially confirm a pilgrim’s intention to proceed with the journey.
The board also encouraged both residents and non-residents of Kwara State to take advantage of the registration through the state’s Pilgrims Welfare Board.
Abdulkadir particularly urged those planning to perform the pilgrimage in 2025 to adhere strictly to the board’s guidelines and timelines to ensure a smooth experience.
Jimoh’s statement reiterated that the board is committed to providing adequate support and guidance to all pilgrims.
This includes ensuring that all intending pilgrims are well-informed about the necessary procedures, from the initial registration to the final stages of preparation for the journey to Mecca.
