Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, has responded to criticism surrounding his second marriage, sharing a pointed message on social media amid mixed public reactions.

Odukoya wrote on Instagram: “If you cannot die for me, don’t pressure me and if you did not die for me, you cannot condemn me.”

The post followed his introduction of his new wife, Mo Jasyme, to the congregation during Sunday service on November 1, 2026, at the church’s headquarters in Ilupeju, Lagos.

According to reports by Intel Region and other Nigerian media outlets, the announcement generated discussions online, with some users questioning the remarriage while others congratulated the couple and defended the pastor’s decision.

During the service, Odukoya reportedly referred to the biblical teaching that it is not good for a man to be alone before introducing his wife to worshippers.

The ceremony was also attended by Pastor Tunde Bakare, who prayed for and blessed the couple.

Odukoya was previously married to Oluwakemi Banjoko, popularly known as Kemi Odukoya. They married in London in March 2013 and have two children together.

His remarriage has renewed public conversations about personal choices, religious leadership and the expectations placed on pastors.

Odukoya has not publicly addressed every criticism surrounding the marriage.
