Jay-Z Seeks Enforcement Of £119,000 Legal Fees In Long-Running Paternity Dispute

By Paul Joseph

American rap icon Jay-Z is reportedly asking a court not to excuse the payment of nearly $119,000 in legal fees owed by Lillie Coley, the godmother of Rymir Satterthwaite, who has for years claimed the music mogul is his biological father.

According to reports, Jay-Z’s legal team filed a motion on Friday in Coley’s bankruptcy proceedings, urging the court to enforce an earlier order requiring her to pay the attorneys’ fees rather than allowing the debt to be discharged.

The legal battle stems from a series of unsuccessful paternity lawsuits brought by Satterthwaite and Coley over the past decade. Satterthwaite has consistently alleged that Jay-Z had a relationship with his late mother, Wanda, which resulted in his birth. The rapper has repeatedly denied the claims.

Court filings reportedly state that Jay-Z has endured years of what his lawyers described as “numerous unfounded court filings, online harassment campaigns and public statements” linked to the allegations.

Following the dismissal of multiple legal actions, a judge reportedly ordered Coley to pay nearly $120,000 in legal costs to Jay-Z. His legal team is now seeking to ensure that the obligation remains enforceable despite her bankruptcy case.

As of the latest reports, Jay-Z’s representatives have not publicly commented on the latest court filing.

The legal dispute, which has spanned more than a decade, remains one of the longest-running controversies surrounding the award-winning rapper and businessman.
