The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has identified three major reasons candidates may not find their names on the matriculation list.
The board disclosed this on Friday in an explainer video shared on its official X handle, urging affected candidates to take steps to regularise their admission records.
JAMB said the most common reason was failure by candidates to accept their admission on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), while the third reason was considered the most important.
The board explained that candidates whose admission status shows “not admitted” should return to their institutions to ensure that their admissions are properly processed.
“Number one is the most common, while number three is the most important. You have not accepted your admission on JAMB CAPS or your admission status reads not admitted,” JAMB stated.
The examination body also said a candidate’s name could be missing if the institution had failed to forward the candidate’s verified matriculation details to the board.
“Your institution admission office has not forwarded your verified matriculation details to JAMB,” it said.
JAMB therefore advised affected candidates to contact their respective institutions and ensure their admission details are properly processed on CAPS.
The board further identified failure to print the JAMB original result slip and admission letter as another reason a candidate may not appear on the matriculation list.
“You have not printed your JAMB original results slip and admission letter,” JAMB stated.
It advised candidates affected by the issue to visit the nearest JAMB office or an approved Computer-Based Test centre to print the required documents.
“So visit the nearest JAMB office or approved CBT centre and get it printed,” the board added.
The matriculation list is used to confirm candidates whose admissions have been properly processed and recognised within the JAMB admission system.
