The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has commenced the release of results for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, urging candidates to use its designated SMS channels to check their scores.
The board disclosed that candidates who sat for the examination on Thursday would start receiving their results from Friday night, noting that the release would be done in phases.
Speaking on the development, JAMB’s spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, advised candidates to strictly adhere to the approved procedure to avoid errors while checking their results.
According to him, candidates are required to send “UTME RESULT” or “UTMERESULT” in uppercase letters to either 55019 or 66019 via text message.
He stressed that the message must be sent using the same phone number used during the registration process, warning that failure to comply could hinder successful delivery of results.
Benjamin explained that the phased release became necessary due to the large number of candidates who participated in the examination nationwide.
With over 2.2 million candidates sitting for the exercise, the board urged candidates to remain calm and patient as the process continues.
JAMB reiterated its commitment to ensuring a smooth and transparent result release process for all candidates.
