Israeli Airstrike Kills Father, Son in Southern Lebanon Village

A Lebanese father and his son were killed on Tuesday in an Israeli airstrike targeting the southern village of Shebaa, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry and state-run media. A second son sustained injuries in the attack.

The Health Ministry confirmed the casualties in a statement, saying, “An Israeli enemy drone carried out a strike in the village of Shebaa, killing two people and wounding one.” The Israeli military has not issued a comment regarding the incident.

Despite a ceasefire agreement signed in November, Israel has continued launching military operations in Lebanon, escalating tensions in the region. Just days earlier, the Lebanese government condemned a major Israeli strike in southern Beirut on the eve of Eid al-Adha.

While Israel claims its operations are aimed at Hezbollah targets, including alleged underground drone facilities, Hezbollah has accused Israel of targeting civilians. The group reported that a previous attack destroyed nine residential buildings.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun denounced the ongoing airstrikes, calling them a “flagrant violation” of the ceasefire deal that was intended to end over a year of intense hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah.
